The transport requirement that comes with it looks nothing like a conference shuttle. Why a policy summit moves differently
At an exhibition, transport is about volume: get a thousand people to a hall and back. At a summit like GTS, it is about precision for a much smaller number of people. A delegate may have a closed-door session at 09:30, a bilateral at a different hotel at 12:00, an embassy call at 16:00 and a dinner at 20:00 — and the car is expected to be waiting, discreet and the same car, each time.

December in Delhi: plan for fog, not around it
Early December is the start of Delhi’s fog season. Visibility drops sharply in the small hours and often does not lift until mid-morning, which delays arrivals at IGI Airport, slows the airport approach roads, and turns a comfortable 06:30 pickup into a missed opening session.
The fix is unglamorous: earlier departures, buffered airport runs, and a chauffeur who is already outside the hotel rather than ten minutes away. Delegations that treat fog as a possibility rather than a certainty are the ones rebooking flights on day one.
Three December habits worth adopting
Move every inbound airport pickup to a wider window and track the flight rather than the scheduled time. Add 30 minutes to the first movement of each morning for the whole week. And keep one vehicle with a chauffeur on site overnight if your delegation has an early outbound — a car already at the hotel at 04:30 in fog is worth more than any contingency clause.

Vehicle class is assigned against protocol rank, not handed out on arrival, and chauffeurs are named to vehicles.
